Sports Celebrity Challenge
Celebrities of all types and walks of life enjoy Alaska's resources as much as the local residents or the average visiting vacationer. Matt LaBounty of the Seattle Seahawks decided to take on the challenge of the early Kasilof River king salmon run along with members of his family this year to see if they could make the connection.
The weather offered the most challenge...in keeping warm during this cloudy mid-June day on the river. Its very apparent the fish were quite willing to cooperate and each member of the party ended up with a nice keeper after catching and releasing several other fish earlier in the day. Drift boat fishing on the Kasilof River is such a different experience than the power boat fishing of the Kenai River that many of our clients enjoy experiencing both types of fisheries just for the change of pace.
