TRIP DURATION: We typically leave in the early morning and finish around mid-afternoon. You can bring whatever snacks, refreshments, and lunch you wish. Sack lunches are also available at a local restaurant. Most often we'll meet our clients for breakfast and then off to the river.
LICENSE & STAMP: Our fishing requires a current fishing license and a salmon/steelhead stamp. A One-Day nonresident license/stamp runs from $23 to $29.50 depending on which river and state we will fish. Multiple day licenses are also available.
WEATHER: Depending on the season temperatures may begin in the 30's and end in the 80's. Plan to dress in layers. Fishing necessitates rain gear and waterproof shoes; it also makes a good windbreaker if needed. Our boats are equipped with heaters but they are not designed to keep you "toasty warm" but rather to take the edge off!
WATER CONDITIONS: We fish both calm waters and whitewater. All precautions are taken to ensure the safety of our anglers. All guides are properly licensed and bonded as required by the state where fishing.
PERMITS:All permits, as required by state and federal law, will also be obtained. Through years of experience and our longevity in this profession we have obtained permits for several exclusive areas on the rivers we fish. These limited permits allow anglers an opportunity to fish all areas and not be restricted to the more crowded sections. In accordance with Federal law and US Department of Agriculture (USDA) policy, this institution is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex (in education and training programs and activities), age, disability, or retaliation. (Not all prohibited bases apply to all programs).
GEAR: We provide all the necessary gear for catching fish. However if you wish to bring personal gear it will be welcome. Fly fishermen are encouraged to bring their own rods, waders and terminal tackle. Advice on flies will be provided in advance.
